Material Handlers, Standup Forklift Drivers 1st, 2nd, 3rd Shift
A Forklift Driver/Material Handler is responsible for storing, moving, and handling materials. Working as a materials handler doesn't require formal education but does entail extensive on-the-job training. A Forklift Driver/Material Handler has a very structured work environment to minimize safety risks. Each job is planned in detail and safety issues are addressed before a job begins.
What you’ll be doing:

- Identifies, transports, packs, removes, and disposes of materials.
- Ensure safe work environment
- Follows all safety procedures and regulations including wearing special protective gear and disposing of materials as regulated by law.
- Follows direction and communicates clearly.
- Physically moves materials and uses heavy equipment to move materials on a regular basis.
- Contribute to Hearthside daily inbound and outbound operations.
- Operate forklifts to pick, replenish, shuttle and load/unload orders.
- May count, weigh or record numbers of units or materials moved or handled.
The Ideal Candidate
What you’ll need:
A high school diploma or GED certification and be at least 18 years of age, required. Previous Materials handling experience required, working with a Standup Forklift with the ability to Side Shift and work with Extended forks. Must be forklift certified within 90 days. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs. Must be able to “side shift” and have worked with stand-up forklifts and extended forks.
Physical requirements and work environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to standing for prolonged periods; frequently walks, grasps, lifts, holds, or feels objects; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee frequently is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when working and handling products or machinery. The employee is subject to assist and support up to 90 pounds with varying amounts of assistance on a reoccurring basis.
